Guide: investor accreditation verification
Only accredited investors can buy on the platform. Here's how verification works and what counts.
What qualifies
The common paths: (1) net worth over $1 million, alone or with a spouse/partner, excluding your primary residence; (2) income over $200,000 (or $300,000 jointly) in each of the past two years with the same expectation this year; (3) an active Series 7, 65, or 82 license in good standing.
How we verify
During onboarding you self-certify your basis. Securities professionals are verified against the regulatory registry by CRD number in seconds. Institutions confirm qualified-purchaser status ($5,000,000+ in investments).
When verification happens
Verification is just-in-time: you can browse immediately after signup, and the full check completes before your first transaction reaches escrow — not before you're allowed to look around.
Sellers don't need accreditation
Accreditation gates buying. If you hold shares in a private company, you can sell them with a Seller account regardless of accreditation status.
